1, Advantages and disadvantages of full container transportation:
Advantages:
(1) High safety: During full container transportation, the goods are usually boxed and sealed, reducing the possibility of damage and loss during transportation.
(2) Exclusive space: Full container transportation can ensure that the goods occupy the entire container, without the need for mixed loading and transportation with other goods, reducing the risk of contamination or cross infection of the goods.
(3) Efficient and fast: Full container transportation is usually faster than LCL transportation because there is no need to wait for the loading and unloading of other goods, which improves the transportation efficiency of goods.
(4) Wide applicability: suitable for the transportation of large quantities of goods, especially goods of the same nature and specifications, which helps to reduce transportation costs.
Disadvantages:
(1) High cost: Compared to LCL transportation, full container transportation may not be economical for small-scale cargo transportation as it requires renting the entire container, resulting in relatively high costs.
(2) Not suitable for small batch goods: If the quantity of goods is small, full box transportation may appear too wasteful of space and cost, and not flexible enough.
(3) Flexible scheduling: Full container transportation usually requires early arrangement of shipping schedules. If the cargo volume cannot meet the conditions for full container transportation, it may require a longer waiting time.
2, Advantages and disadvantages of LCL transportation:
Advantages:
(1) Affordable: Compared to full container transportation, LCL transportation can better utilize the space of containers, reduce the transportation cost of individual goods, and is especially suitable for small batches of goods.
(2) Strong flexibility: LCL transportation can be combined according to the quantity and size of goods, making it more flexible to meet different transportation needs and improving the flexibility of the supply chain.
(3) Low minimum capacity: LCL transportation does not have high requirements for cargo volume like FCL transportation. Even if the cargo volume is small, LCL transportation can be chosen, reducing the threshold for minimum capacity.
Disadvantages:
(1) The safety of goods is relatively low: due to the mixing of goods with other goods during LCL transportation, the safety of goods is relatively low and is easily affected by compression, collision, and other factors.
(2) The loading and unloading process is relatively complex: LCL transportation involves goods from multiple shippers, and the loading and unloading process is relatively complex, which can easily lead to confusion, incorrect shipping, and other problems.
(3) Long transportation time: Due to the need to wait for the container to be fully assembled, the time for LCL transportation is relatively long and not suitable for goods with strict transportation time requirements.
