1, Graphic signs: visually display hazard categories

Graphic labeling is the most intuitive and easily recognizable way of labeling dangerous goods packaging. These signs are usually composed of visual symbols, danger category numbers, equipment categories, and inner and outer edge lines, and some signs can also be accompanied by textual descriptions. According to standards such as "Dangerous Goods Packaging Markings" (GB190-2009), there are a total of 21 types of marking graphics, which respectively indicate the main characteristics of 9 categories of dangerous goods.

Explosive symbol: Its symbol is black with an orange red background, vividly displaying the danger of explosives. The existence of such signs enables personnel involved in handling, storage, and transportation to quickly identify explosives and take appropriate safety measures.

Flammable gas symbol: Its symbol is black or white, with a base color of bright red, clearly conveying the flammable and explosive characteristics of flammable gases. This helps relevant personnel understand the nature of the goods, thereby avoiding fire or explosion accidents during transportation and storage.

Other category symbols, such as oxidizing substances, toxic substances, radioactive substances, etc., each have their unique symbols and colors to ensure rapid identification and appropriate emergency measures can be taken in case of an emergency.

The advantage of graphic logos lies in their intuitiveness and ease of recognition. They can convey key information to relevant personnel in a short period of time, ensuring quick action in emergency situations.

2, Text marking: Detailed labeling of goods information

In addition to graphic symbols, the packaging of dangerous goods also needs to be labeled with the correct transport name and United Nations number (UN number). These textual markings help to quickly identify the type and nature of goods, and are an important part of ensuring safe transportation of goods.

Transport name: This is the official name of the goods during transportation, providing detailed information about the nature, purpose, and danger of the goods. By using the transportation name, relevant personnel can understand the danger of the goods and take corresponding preventive measures.

UN number: This is a unique number assigned to each type of dangerous goods by the United Nations Committee of Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods. It helps to unify the identification and management of dangerous goods globally, ensuring compliance with corresponding international standards and regulations during transportation.

The advantage of textual markers lies in their detail and accuracy. They provide comprehensive information about the goods, enabling relevant personnel to have a deeper understanding of the nature, purpose, and danger of the goods, and thus take more precise safety measures.

3, Special marking: emphasizing specific precautions

In addition to graphic and textual markings, dangerous goods packaging may also contain some special markings to emphasize certain specific precautions or requirements.

Marine pollutant labeling: Packages containing marine pollutants must be durably marked with the "MARINEPOLLUTANT" label. This helps to alert personnel to potential hazards to the marine environment and take corresponding preventive measures to reduce damage to the marine ecosystem.

Heating label: For goods that require heating during transportation, a heating label should be affixed to the packaging, indicating the expected maximum temperature to be reached. This helps ensure temperature control of the goods during transportation, avoiding damage or danger caused by low or high temperatures.

Fumigation warning symbol: Fumigation warning symbols should be displayed on the packaging of goods that have been fumigated to warn personnel of the possible presence of harmful gases. This helps to protect the health and safety of relevant personnel and avoid health problems caused by inhaling harmful gases.

The advantage of special markings lies in their pertinence and warning nature. They can provide additional information and warnings to relevant personnel regarding specific precautions or requirements, ensuring compliance with corresponding regulations and requirements during transportation, storage, and handling.
